Closing times

The Arena of Nîmes has an unbroken tradition of theatrical performance, which explains how it has remained relatively intact over the centuries and up to the present day. These performances require technical equipment that can involve a certain level of noise or visual disturbance for visitors, including the installation of a tarred groundcloth on the floor to protect the arena’s sand. This covering is removed at the end of the summer. The city of Nîmes thanks visitors for their understanding.
